Reed Diffusers
What is a Reed Diffuser?
A reed diffuser is a flameless home fragrance device that uses reeds to disperse scent into the air.
It consists of a decorative bottle filled with fragrance oil and a set of porous reeds.
Our diffusers are supplied with fibre reeds. After vigorous testing, we found that this particular type of reed absorbs and disperses the fragrance faster and are of a higher quality with less chance of clogging than the alternative rattan or wood sticks. Therefore making them our preferred choice for your reed diffusers.
How do they work?
The reeds, which are porous, absorb the fragrance oil from the bottle through capillary action. The fragrance then travels up the reeds and evaporates into the air, releasing a continuous, subtle scent.
Benefits:
Using a reed diffuser is a form of aromatherapy and has proven psychological benefits.
Flameless and safe: No flame or heat source is needed, making them a safer option than candles.
Easy to use and maintain: Simply insert the reeds into the oil and let them do their thing.
Constant scent: Provides a continuous fragrance release, unlike candles that need to be lit.
How to use
1. Prepare the Bottle:
Carefully remove the decorative cap & stopper from the top of the reed diffuser bottle.
2. Add the Reeds:
Insert the reed sticks into the bottle, ensuring they are spaced evenly for better scent distribution.
3. Initial Saturation:
Allow the reeds to soak in the oil for at least one to two hours.
4. Flip the Reeds:
After the initial soaking period, flip the reeds to saturate the other end with oil and begin releasing the fragrance.
5. Enjoy the Scent:
It may take up to 48 hours for the fragrance to fully develop and spread through the room.
Tips for Maximizing Fragrance
Adjust the Number of Reeds:
Use more reeds for a stronger scent and fewer for a lighter fragrance.
Flip Regularly:
Flip the reeds every few days to refresh the fragrance and increase scent throw.
Strategic Placement:
Place the diffuser in an area with good air circulation, such as a hallway or near a doorway, to help the scent spread.
Avoid Direct Sunlight:
Keep the diffuser out of direct sunlight to prevent the oil from evaporating too quickly.
Protect Surfaces:
Place the diffuser on a tray or coaster to prevent any oil from staining surfaces.
Replace Old Reeds:
Reeds can become dusty over time, so replace them with new reeds and fresh oil for optimal performance.
Safety Warning
Avoid direct skin contact with undiluted essential oils. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Ensure proper ventilation during use.
